Purpose

1. Perform transesterification process with Jatropha oil and Sodium ethoxide (CH₃COONa) to create a biodiesel.

 

2. To lower the cloud point of the Jatropha biodiesel in order for the fuel to be usable in colder climates such as Canadian winters.

 

3. To establish the flash point for mixtures of: Jatropha biodiesel and ethanol, as well as Jatropha biodiesel, ethanol and diesel additives.
