1. Make a chart . Use this chart for your observations.

2.Use the point of your pencil or scissors to make a hole on the 3 index cards.

3. Measure the size of each hole in mm and write the measurements in your chart.

4. Thread the string through the straw. Make a mark on the string. This is where you will release the balloon rocket for each trial.

5. Through the largehol thread the end of the balloon. Blow up the balloon. Hold the opening tightly.

6. At top of the balloon tape the straw. Have a partner measure and record the length of the balloon.

7. Have 2 partners hold the end of the string and stretch it out. Hold the string tightly. Release the balloon. Collect Data by measuring how far the balloon moved along the string. Record the data in your chart. Detach the balloon from the straw.

8. Repeat steps 5-7 2 times, first using the card with the medium and then the small hole. Use a new balloon each time. Measure to make sure the balloon is to the same length.
