           Step 1

Getting you’re bins ready.

Shred cardboard and newspaper then dampen until it feels like a wet sponge.

Add all purpose potting soil to finish bedding.

Put worms in bins. Each bin has a half pound of worms.

Now you’re ready to start your vermi- composting.

Step 2

Composting

Feed every 2-3 days.  I have to get the apples, bananas, and carrots ready.

Flip over bedding every week.

Keep damp like wet sponge.

Keep out of direct sunlight (Or they will shrivel up and die).

Kept track of amount fed to the worms.  I weighed the food each time I fed them.

Step 3

After three months, I will weigh the worms and see how many have reproduced in each bin.

We dumped each worm bin onto a tray.

We separated the worms from the compost and put them into the lid.  We weighed all the worms.

We wrote down observations and took photos.
