Caelan and Julian are doing a simple machine project for the science fair. Our question is Can a simple machine turn off a alarm clock? Today we our going to tell you about our vision of what we think of our project. So we hope you enjoy our essay and learn all you can learn about simple machines.
Have you ever noticed a slanted road, a slanted rooftop, or a slide? Do you ever wonder what they have in common? They are all inclined planes! The inclined plane is one of the six different simple machines (we are only going to use two in our project). The inclined plane we are going to be using is a tube. An inclined plane is a slanted surface, used for moving objects from one a high place to a low place, or a low place to a high place. The way we are going to use our inclined plane in our project, is a marble rolling down the tube that is on a K'nex tower, leading to a funnel underneath. This is what we know about the inclined plane in our project.
Have you ever tried to find out how you can lift an object on the ground to a higher level without carrying it? Try the pulley. In case you didn't’t know, the pulley is another one of the six different simple machines. The pulley we are going to be using is a playing card, with a string strung through it, hanging off a K'nex piece. A pulley is an object attached to a rope/string that goes over a wheel, so when you pull the rope/string the object will be lifted into the air, and if you let go it will drop. A pulley is used to move objects to a higher surface. In our project the pulley will be in the way of the ball so that when you pull the string, the playing card will rise and the ball will roll down the tube. This is what we know about the pulley in our project.
As we’ve mentioned the pulley and the inclined plane and four other objects are all part of the same group .The simple machines group! There are six different kinds of simple machines: the pulley, the inclined plane, the screw, the lever, the wedge, and the wheel and axle. The only two simple machines we are using in our project are the pulley and the inclined plane. All of the six simple machines don’t use electricity, and have only one or two parts. One of these parts usually can move, with help from a human being. But what it really needs is energy. A simple machine’s purpose is to help people, and make people’s work easier. Simple machines are very helpful to us and are project.
We have learned many things by researching our science project. We hope all of the information we have provided you will be useful for you in the future. Simple machines can help make life alot easier.
