Observations
I observed that when I moved my hand slowly through the quicksand it acted as a liquid and was easy to pull through. But when I moved my hand quickly through the substance it acted as a solid and yanked my hand back. It was difficult to get through. The liquid limited the speed I moved the hand at.
I also tried sinking my hand to the bottom of the container of quicksand and pulling it up. This worked when I moved my hand slowly. When I moved my hand quickly sometimes the container would end up rising off the counter. The liquid again reduced my ability to move my hand quickly.
