- Project Title = Give Your Dog a Shiny Smile
- Source of Idea = My dad helped me think of the idea.
My name is Vanessa Mutlak and I am in grade 4. In my project, I tried to find out which product will
keep a dog's teeth cleanest and shiniest, its breath smelling the "freshest", and remove the most
tartar. My hypothesis predicted that a product called "Greenies" did the best job. Besides "Greenies",
I also to used bones, a tooth brush and tooth paste, rawhide, and a tartar remover liquid to keep my
dog's teeth clean and its breath smelling "fresh". I recorded on a scale from 1 to 10, with one being
the worst and 10 being the best, how clean, how shiny, how "fresh" the odour of the breath, and how
much tartar was removed before and after using each product. For my observations, I noticed although
"Greenies" kept the dog's breath the "freshest", the tooth brush and tooth paste kept the dog's teeth
the cleanest, and rawhide bones kept the dog's teeth the shiniest. None of the products had any effect
on the tartar. My hypothesis was partially correct. Using a combination of all the products did the
best job of keeping a dog's teeth clean and shiny and her breath "fresh".
