Canopy is the hardest monkey to observe. He has a very annoying habit of
staying in the highest spot of the tallest tree, in the monkey’s caged in
area. She is extremely hard to identify
and very easy to get her mixed up with Granda and Mohawkin. Spider monkeys have
the most prehensile tail of any mammal and Canopy shows it! She is able to
fling herself with her tail from branch to branch and jump nearly 8 feet
through the air. Canopy very rarely will even approach the other monkeys. Even
though Canopy does not ever stay around with the other monkeys once Granda took
some leaves from a bush on the ground up to Canopy in the trees. Canopy will
hang from her tail chew leaves and then spit them out to clean her teeth.
