| Summary of Project | Our project is based on a highly controversial scientific issue, stem cells. There are two types of stem cells: adult stem cells, and embryonic stem cells. The reason why embryonic stem cells are highly controversial is because in order to obtain these valuable cells, the death of human embryos is required. We also found that each of these two types of stem cells have their advantages and disadvantages. However, embryonic stem cells have more potential to be a great medical breakthrough, even though they prove to be more risky as compared to adult stem cells. We also found out recently that scientists have found a new alternative for embryonic stem cells that can remove the ethical issues surrounding stem cells! We researched and gathered up information from the internet in order to complete this project. We also used the net to browse for pictures which we used throughout our project, whether it was in our movie, or in our site. |
