data without the antenna
3.
Attach
the reflector to the antenna of the wireless access point.
4.
With the antenna pointed toward the test
computer, measure and record the signal strength.
5.
Do
numerous trials
To
build the antenna
1.
Get one
or two (amount of antennas on router) pieces of Styrofoam, cut them to
be 16.5 × 7.5 × 2.5 cm (l×w×h).
2.
Get a
cereal box, cut it to be 15cm2
3.
Cover
piece(s) of cardboard with aluminum foil.
4.
Bend the
foil-covered cardboard on coffee can
5.
Then,
put a dot at 6.5cm from bottom of Styrofoam, put centre of aluminum
foiled- cardboard on Styrofoam, put a 5cm dots from bottom at corners.
Draw a curved line using a protractor
6.
Cut
along line
7.
Repeat
step 5 & 6 if more than one antenna
8.
Glue
cardboard to Styrofoam wrap with elastic bands to hold in place
9.
Drill
hole in centre of Styrofoam
10.
Put
the Styrofoam on the router(s) antenna(s)
