MOVEMENT

The loggerhead shrikes carry their lighter prey in their bills and they carry the heavier prey with their feet. They flutter their wings quickly and then glide. They fly or swoop down fast from a perch, beat their wings quickly near the ground, and then fly up to land on another perch. The shrike moves in three different ways when it is hunting. First, it swoops down and kills the prey quickly. Second, it also hunts by hovering high in the air and then folding its wings and dropping fast. Third, the shrike flies close to the ground going back and forth until it scares the prey into the open. To scare other shrikes away they bow and flutter their wings very fast.
