DESCRIPTION

Loggerhead shrikes have black, white and grey feathers. They have a white belly and breast area. The loggerhead shrike has songbird feet and a hooked bill. The bird weighs about 35 to 50 grams. A shrike grows to be 20 cm to 23 cm long. The shrike’s large grey head has a black mask. When the loggerhead shrike is flying the white markings on its body show up. The female and male look very much alike. The shrike lives about 12 years.
