# 1 : What happens when dry ice touches liquid:

Carlisle: when the dry ice touched the water the carbon dioxide started to come off the dry ice.  After about 5 minutes passed the carbon dioxide stopped coming off, I think it was because all the CO2 was all off and evaporated into the air. When I was just holding the dry ice the CO2 wasn't coming off as fast as it was when it was in the water.

Morgan: When we dropped a few pieces of dry ice into the glass of water, it produced smoke. Well, actually gas, called carbon dioxide.

 

#2: The singing spoon:

Carlisle: I think that it we do it properly it will start doing a noise that will sound like a lady singing. But if we don't do it the right way I don't think it will do anything.

Morgan: I predict that the spoon will make a really irritating sound but only if the spoon is warm, I am thinking that because the dry ice is so cold the warm spoon will rub up against the cold dry ice and it will make it more loud.

 

#3: The explosion:

Carlisle: I think that when we put the dry ice in the enclosed bottle with some water I think that it will take about 4 minutes to explode because that will give it time to build up enough and explode.

Morgan: When we put the dry ice in the bottle I don't think that it will be a big explosion I think the lid will fly of and that will be it.

CONCLUSIONS

#1: What happens when dry ice touches liquid:

When the dry ice touched the water all of the Carbon dioxide came off of the dry ice (since dry ice is made of CO2). After about 5 minutes the carbon dioxide was all gone (because there was no more corbon dioxide left to come off, it was already all used up)

 

#2: The singing spoon:

WE WHERE RIGHT!!!! when we placed the warmed up spoon on the dry ice it made that bad noise that we told you about!!!!!!

 

#3: The explosion:

When we put the dry ice with a little bit of water and put the lid on, after about 20 seconds the plastic bottle started to expand, after 2 minutes the plastic bottle looked like a giant pill and then it exploded! The bottle totally blew up, there was plastic every where and we found most of it and it was stretched and it looked like a dog had gotten to it.
