Our Experiment

We tried staying up for two nights; and three days straight. We wanted to find out what would happen, what side effects would happen, how we would react at school, and what drinks make you stay awake. We did our project on a Sunday to a Monday, then Monday to a Tuesday.

All of our friends said we were really hard to deal with; and that we didn't have any patience for anything.

The drinks on the first night were Coke and Water.
We bought a big two litter of coke, and we would just drink out from there, and when there was no coke left, we drank water.
On the second night Indigo drank 'red rain' which is a sort of energy drink that has a small amount of acid inside. While I, Bianca, drank water and homemade juice the whole night.

The first night the coke really helped. We only slept for about 30 minutes. Then when we got to school, we were very energetic. We were having fun, and we couldn't wait for the day. Then when we got into class, we felt dead. We were REALLY tired. I, Bianca, even got kicked out of class because I wasn't paying attention, because I was sleeping. Indigo didn't get kicked out, but she silently slept, until one of her peers woke her up because they new this was part of our project and we HAD to stay awake.
When we arrived back at Indigo's house, we started watching Maury; because we thought all the drama would keep us awake. And we asked Brando, Indigo's brother, to wake us up if we fell asleep. We ended up pretty much passing out on her couch because we had to sleep. And then he'd wake us up, and we didn't even remember falling asleep!
At the second night, when Indigo drank Red Rain, she felt SO SICK that she had to fall asleep. So I was left to stay awake alone. I kept on getting up and walking around her house every time I felt like I was going to sleep. I didn't sleep that whole night.
When we woke up, Indigo was under the impression that she was on the phone with our good friend Lynn's mom. She picked up her cell phone, and started saying 'Oh HIIII KAREN (Lynn's mom). Nooo Lynn's not with usss... Yeah I'll check. Buh byyeeee' and I had to prove to her that their was no chance she was on the phone with Lynn's mom, because it was 6 AM; and the phone wasn't even on.

We found that water and coke help you stay awake the most.
And that most of the effects are very true. You feel nauseous, your head starts throbbing, you forget a lot of things, and your mussels ache.
