Practical Applications of the Experiment:

This experiment shows the undeniable potential that lies in mixing hydrogen peroxide with ethanol in order to obtain a more energy efficient, cleaner, as well as safe fuel. It is very realistic as it links to the energy shortage problem that the global society is facing right now. As gasoline, the energy supply that the global economy is depended on currently is running out as we speak, it is imperative for us to search for an alternative energy source that is both safe, clean, as well as produces a large and sustainable amount of energy. Although ethanol is presently used as a motor fuel or addictives to fuel, it or its mixture produces less energy. Thus, it is important to discover a way to further harvest the energy from ethanol which includes adding hydrogen peroxide as presented in this experiment.
