| Summary             | What is Solar Energy? Solar Energy is light or heat
that comes from the sun. Solar Energy is a renewable source of energy, it is clean and it is free. Our project is informative and experimental, everyone needs to do their part in keeping the earth clean. |
| Idea for Project         | Last year I (Brianna) did a science fair project on electricity,
I learned that coal was the number one producer of electricity in Nova Scotia. Coal is a non-renewable fuel; it is very dirty and causes pollution. It adds to the green house gases in the atmosphere. These gases are warming up the earth and this is causing Global Warming. I wanted to find out what source of energy could be used that wasn't dirty and wouldn't produce any green house gases. After a little research, I realized solar energy is a renewable energy, it is very clean and it is free. I asked Jordee to be my partner and we decided to do a Solar Cooker Challenge. |
