Appearance

There are many different types of appearances for an anaconda snake. Anacondas are the largest and heaviest snakes in the world. These snakes can grow up to a length of over 29 feet. A fully grown anaconda can weigh up to 550 lbs or more. The Anaconda Snake can be measured to be more than 12 inches in diameter. The female snake is usually heavier than the male. There are only 2 different types of anacondas. They are the green anaconda, and the yellow anaconda. The Green Anaconda is a dark green in color with black oval patches on its back. This specific pattern blends the snake in well with the wet, dense vegetations of its habitat. The sides of the snake have similar spots with yellow centers. The Yellow Anaconda is mostly yellow except for some black oval patches. The scales on an anaconda are unique with a particular pattern such as our fingerprints. Anacondas have a very large head and a very thick neck. Their eyes and nostrils are positioned on top of the head, enabling the snake to breathe and see its prey while its body lays submerged under water.
