People in Canada think that the government should be trying to save the environment so the governments came up with the Kyoto accord. Now, there is rising debates about whether we should keep the Kyoto accord or get rid of it. The government is doing what they can but you can do your part. It is our pollution that the government is trying to clean up. If you eliminated half of your phantom loads, you could help stop green house gases being released into the air and contributing to global warming.
How to eliminate Phantom loads
There are three main ways to eliminate phantom loads. The first is to unplug the appliance from the outlet. This way the appliance can't use energy. The second way is to use a power bar to group many appliances together. You can turn all the appliances off at the same time and the power doesn't take any energy. This method works well with entertainment systems. The last way is to use a timer. A timer shuts off a number of appliances at a set time. This also works for entertainment systems.
