BAMBOO
Bamboo
is a very versatile material that can be used for flooring, paneling and pretty
much anything that can be made out of wood. it also makes an appearance in many
Asian and vegetarian dishes

facts:
-bamboo has 1250 different species
- it can grow 1.2 meters in 24hrs
-in their life time some species can grow up to 30m high
-after the atomic bombs hit Japan, bamboo was the first plant life to return
-bamboo has one of the highest photosynthesis rates of any plant species
-bamboo releases beneficial microorganisms into the soil, therefore the soil is regenerated and enriched for the next crop
-1 billion people in the world live in bamboo houses
-in India bamboo is called "wood of the poor"
-it is an essential building material in earthquake resistant architecture
-its is also well known for it use as scaffolding

HEMP

Hemp is the non psychoactive plant from the cannabis family that can used for just about anything (25 000 different uses). Example: food, bath products, building material and clothing. Hemp is the material of the future.

-it is the longest fiber in the world
-in Europe and China, it is often used to strengthen cement
-both George Washington and Thomas Jefferson grew hemp
-if marijuana is planted by hemp, you won't get higher THC hemp, you will get lower THC marijuana, although in the US hemp production is suppressed by laws supporting drug agencies- there is a worry that high THC plants will be grown amongst the low.
-in 2006, China was producing about 40% of the world's hemp fiber, and throughout history they produced much of the worlds cannabis crop.
STRAW

straw, it grows like a weed and can be used for just about anything. from hats to baskets to even house insulation, straw does it all.
