Water
-use xeriscaping (minimum water use)
-collect rainwater to use in landscaping
-recycle grey water
-use fixtures and appliances that use minimal water. like composting toilets etc.
Energy
Materials
-reduce waste during construction
-use as many recycled components as possible
-use materials that can be found close to the construction site (local)
-don't use synthetic materials
-use durable materials. even if they're more expensive they last longer
