I attached a piece of copper to the underside of this piece to restrict the axel from exiting the motor on the other side.
 
A new solenoid with several layers of coil wire wrapped on a nail.
Getting the outer solenoids positioned.
The final concept design compete with rotating axel and a comutator. At this point the electrical is not wired.
