PURPOSE

1. To build a simple earthquake machine to test stability of model buildings.

2. To do experiments to see what effects some structural modifications have on the stability of model buildings:

a) overlapped blocks or non-overlapped blocks

b) building height

c) buttresses

d) a base isolator

e) a roof       

f) cross bracing

3. Using the structural modifications listed above, build a structure that withstands the earthquake machine.
