No colonies were observed on all amp⁺ plates of 10^-2 and 10^-4 cell dilutions.

Note: because only two samples are used each standard deviation calculation, the calculated standard deviation does not reliably indicate the actual distribution of the data. Standard deviations are not calculated for pH levels as pH levels were measured only once at the appropriate temperature. Standard deviations are not calculated for transformation frequencies, as these are calculated from data that has already been averaged, such that only one transformation frequency is calculated for each pH level.
