motion. An example of Rack and Pinion Gears are steering in a car. The
pinion Gear is the normal round gear. The Rack gear is a flat gear
that has teeth that mesh with the pinion gear.

Helical Gears |

Helical Gears are cut at a angle. They mesh to thrust load. The Helical gear is used in almost all car transmissions. The reason for this is because they run much more smoothly than the Spur gear. |
