The Internet is an amazing invention that allows computers anywhere in the world to exhange information. With it, you can browse the web, looking at a wide diversity of information. E-mail allows you to contact anyone with an Internet connection world wide - instantly. Many technologies make up the Internet, and must work in sync to keep it running. Hardware connections and networks physically connect computers, while communications protocols ensure that standards are met. Even the types of connections that people use to access the Internet are drastically different and offer alternatives for cost or speed.
