Question
Oil spills do major damage to the marine environment. Most of the famous oil spill cases have occurred in Alaska, but they do happen everywhere and most are not caused by ship wrecks. So, which type of environment is most affected by an oil spill? The Arctic such as Prince William Sound in Alaska, the temperate coasts such as Cape Cod and California, or the warm tropics such as the Florida Keys? How much does the weather of the area affect the spill? Is a spill in a tropical storm worse than in calm waters in the Arctic, or the reverse?
