Feel free to browse around. The primary navigation method is the row of links above. The current page's link is highlighted. Some pages will have sub-links, which do not appear in the linkbar, and use a slimmed-down interface. (A prime example is the video below) There are also some screenshots, which open all by themselves in a new window.
Oh, and please note that this was written between October 2005 and May 2006. Some of the info, especially under the webmail section, is changing rapidly.
Video
We have created a video that quickly shows some of the concepts involved in this project. I don't see much point in going into it, but it shows how an email goes from my webmail client (Gmail), through SMTP, to my server (ranek.ca, which I do not own yet), through IMAP to Apple Mail, and then replied to with an attachment. The attachment is MIME encoded, and sent through SMTP back to Gmail's servers, and then received by POP in Mozilla Thunderbird.
