Conclusion:

Estradiol, a potent estrogen, diminishes the power of Tamoxifen. Red clover, which contains phytoestrogens, also decreases the efficiency of Tamoxifen, suggesting that phytoestrogens in red clover are indeed potent. Red clover therefore interacts negatively with Tamoxifen, as a reduction in MCF-7 breast cancer cell killing was seen, as red clover apparently inhibits Tamoxifen.

Our preliminary evidence suggests that red clover decreases the efficiency of Tamoxifen as a breast cancer treatment. This initial evidence warrants further study.
