Project Title: Growing Indoor Plants in the Winter
Project Abstract:
My science project, "Where to grow Indoor Plants in the Winter," was testing whether its best to grow plants with natural sunlight, or with artificial light during the winter. When I started my experiment, the plants were almost the same size, and I had no idea about my hypothesis at first. I grew both plants for about three weeks. At the beginning of the experiment, they both looked the same, and by the end, I saw that the one grown with sunlight was still dark green, but the other one started looking yellow, pale, and not as lively as the other plant. The purpose was to tell people where they should grow their plants during winter time in Canada for best and healthiest results. It helps my mom too! I watered them both (my mom helped me a little) every four or five days. I didn't use any regular light bulbs, instead I used special ones designed to grow plants. The soil was the same condition in both plants, so that makes it even.
These are the plants when I first got them, and at the end of the experiment. These are only drawings, though. Click the link to see an enlarged version of the picture. The name of the plant was a Nepthysis.
