Observations

At the beginning of my experiment, the one that I put under the UV light was 11 and ¼ of an inch tall. The one put by the window was about 13 inches tall. At the end of the experiment, the one under the UV light was 12 and ½ inches tall and the one by the window was 14 ½ inches tall. So, the one under by the window grew ¼ of an inch more then the other one. But the one under the UV light didn’t look as lively as the other one. I started my experiment on January 3, 2005 and my Mom helped me water it every four or five days. I ended my experiment on January 24, 2005, and these are the results. Both plants grew about and inch and a half, but the one under the sun grew more new leaves and it looks livelier. The one grown under the light bulb did not grow too many new leaves but it grew a few. Also, the one under the light bulb had most of its leaves bigger then the other one. They both had the same amount of soil and the one by the window’s soil dried up faster, so we gave it a little more water then the other. The one under the light bulb also looks a little pale and the other one is darker, so, I think that in general, the one grown under the sun grew better.

These are the plants when I first got them, and at the end of the experiment. These are only drawings, though. Click the link to see an enlarged version of the picture.
