I read about electric currents and circuits. I discovered that “the
circuit (the course through which the electricity flows from the battery)
must be unbroken (closed) for it to work. If a circuit is broken (open),
the current of electricity cannot flow through it.” (Drago &
Meiani, p. 139).
I drew a picture of how I think the circuit on the Formula Fuelers
works.

I also read about salt. Salt is made of sodium (Na) and chlorine
(Cl). Sodium is a metal and “it shares certain characteristics
with other metals.” (The Elements: Sodium, p.6). I also know
that metals are good conductors of electricity.
I learned that a solution of water and salt is a good conductor of
electricity, because the salt makes the water become a conductor.
