To
see cosmic rays you must use special devices: a spark chamber, a cloud chamber,
a cloud chamber, and a Geiger Counter. To build
a cloud chamber, you need dry ice, tissue, alcohol, and a plastic jar. We
don’t
really see the particle with a cloud chamber; we see the heat forming a cloud
trail like a jet airplane
flying high in the air. You can sort the particles by using a electric field
because the particles are charged. Also you can see how fast they are going
by using a magnet; they will go in a circle and the bigger the circle, the
faster they are going. Some cosmic rays can be stopped by paper, wood, cement,
metal, and plastic. Some particles are not stopped by these materials. The
number of cosmic rays varies between altitudes.
