Procedure

Airflation:Objective: To find out if people that exercise regularly have more lung power rather than someone does almost no exercise.
Hypothesis: I think people that exercise regularly will have bigger lung capacity because they have stronger lungs which allows them to to take in more air.
Materials: - a pack of regular shaped balloons
- a measuring tape- volunteer people
- a pack of graph paper
- a pencil
- red, blue, and green felt pens
Variable(s):
Independent: The different people that will be tested.
Dependent: People who exercise and people who don't exercise.
Control: The type of balloons used.
Procedure: -Get a volunteer to blow their vital air capacity into a new balloon.
-Measure the diameter of the balloon.- Write down the results on the chart.
- Repeat procedure five times on each person.
-Get the same volunteer to blow their reserve air capacity into a new balloon.
-Measure the diameter of the balloon.
- Write down the results on the chart.
- Repeat procedure five times on each person.
- Repeat this procedure with five different people. (2 people who exercise and 2 people who don't exercise.)
- Compare the results and determine the final result.
