| Home | Problem To obtain a global picture of differentially expressed transcripts in winter and spring wheat during cold acclimation. And to compare and find different methods of transcriptome profiling. Hypothesis Using transcript profiling techniques unique transcripts related to cold tolerance can be identified by comparing a winter wheat (cv. Norstar) and a spring wheat (cv. Manitou) exposed to 4oC at intervals of times. Secondary Objective While we were executing our procedure, we came up with a secondary objective, which was to compare the different methods of transcriptome profiling. We wanted to see if cDNA RAPD was an effective technique, as it is efficient and cheap.
