Conclusions
- Our hypothesis is true with regard to identifying transcripts expressed in winter wheat.
- The cDNA-RAPD method did not show any differentially expressed transcripts.
- More random primers need to be screened - we did not have enough resources to get a good overall comparison of the different methods
- Different temperatures could lead to different results; as could different time base (hourly increments as opposed to 15 minute)
- cDNA-AFLP will likely lead to more differentially expressed transcripts with the screening of more numberof primer pairs.
