                                                         Introduction
Energy Conservation is and will continue to be an important issue on our planet, Earth. Because of the harmful effects that much nonrenewable energy such as oil, coal and gas are having on our environment it has become important for people to pay attention and cut back on the amount that they use this type of energy. People for years and years have been relying on these nonrenewable energy sources for their needs. As we continue into the future the consumption of these energy sources will increase and these energies may run out. Even though we know this, we continue to use energy sources carelessly and much more then we need to. What can we do to cut back on energy? What energy sources can we look to for the future?

It is important that we start switching our reliability to alternative resources. In this site we explain the advantages and disadvantages to many alternative resources such as solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, biomass and tidal energy. These are all alternatives to fossil fuels, nuclear power and all the other types of energy that we use daily. But there is no absolute need to suddenly switch. The whole population can make their small contribution in their homes and businesses. We have added graphs that show the consumption of energy in the typical house daily and yearly. And as demonstrated by the meter readings taken in a household where results were compared to using everyday energy as usual and then making a commitment to conserve, the results showed that power use was almost cut in half. We have given some energy saving tips in our site that may help. If we were to use these and make the commitment to conserve energy, while slowly moving forward with the alternative energy sources, then our environment would be much cleaner and our future much brighter.

We hope you enjoy our site!
