Global-warming is caused by the release of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. The problem is that it building up in the atmosphere is causing the Earth’s temperature to rise. See the diagram (below) for complete explanation. If the Earth’s temperature rises by just a few degrees Celsius the Earth’s landscape will be all turned into a humongous desert and the ocean level will rise because the polar ice will be melting. If the ice melts animals such as the Polar Bear will go extinct because they rely on it for hunting. Not only will the polar animals be threatened. Everyday animals that live on land like wolves will go extinct (unless they adapt) because global-warming will have destroyed their habitat because the only terrain on Earth will be desert. Hurricanes and other extreme weather will be more common and farming will go down by a huge percentage. If the ocean level rises the coastal areas will be soon under water causing the people living there to flee inland for work, shelter, food, and money.

The carbon dioxide is released when humans burn fossil fuels like gas for cars or electricity. How does electricity release carbon dioxide? Well it doesn’t, but the way it’s made uses a fossil fuel. Electricity is made by a turbine turning and powering a generator which produces electricity. But it’s how the turbine is being turned that’s the problem. For the turbine to be turned natural gas has to be burned which releases carbon dioxide. Where is this carbon dioxide ending up? You guessed it, in our atmosphere. The heads of fossil fuel businesses have been informed but they know how great the demand for energy is so they refuse to stop until they have proof that burning fossil fuels is causing global-warming. If we let global-warming continue, the Earth will be a huge desert with no animals except the ones that learn to survive in high heat or the ones that already have the skills. Scientists already know all the threats to earth and are planning terraforming.
