With these observations, we can say that sugar attracts water.
Sugar dissolves in water. It will take water from the atmosphere if given the chance. The food with higher sugar content draws water molecules from the food with lower sugar content. This explains why the sweet (which contains the most sugar) was wet in every container. It had drawn water from the other less sugary foods.
