Conclusions
I concluded that tsunamis can be generated by many different natural events, ie. a supermarine landslide, an avalanche, an earthquake etc. I also learned that there are 3 stages of a tsunami wave : generation (in this case by a supermarine landslide hitting the water), propagation of the waves from the source region to the impact site (the shallower the water the clearer the waves will show and the slower they will travel), and finally, the runup on land. I've also learned that the deeper the water, the faster and shorter the wave is. I have also concluded that a bag of aquarium gravel representing a supermarine landslide when released down an inclined slope into a tank of water, will generate a wave that simulates a tsunami. This conclusion proves that my hypothesis is correct.
