For our project, we decided to build a maze in which to send a mouse through. However we soon realized that this dose not answer a question from a science point of view. So we decided to use three different kind of cheeses and figure out which one makes the mouse go through the maze quicker. So now our question reads as follows: "What type of cheese makes a mouse go through our maze faster?"
For our project we have selected three types of cheeses: Cheddar, Mozzarella and blue cheese and we are going to use peanut Butter as well. we will buy a mouse, make the maze and thus discover what kind of cheese the mouse will want thus going through the maze quicker.
Our maze has many hidden secrets such a hills that the mouse must climb, water the mouse must swim through, teeter-totters the mouse must go over and a Saran Wrap wall around the cheese at the end. We have used so many little "booby traps" to not only test the mouse's mind but also test his endurance, as we will be timing his abilities in the maze.
Once we have determined what cheese our mouse likes the most, we will use that one cheese over and over until he has the course memorized. Once he has the course memorized, we will start him from behind a wall After the wall is lifted, we will ring a bell when there is cheese and will not ring it when there is not cheese, to find out whether or not he can tell when there is cheese and when there is not on account of the bell.
We want to do this project because there is lots of constructive things going on to make the maze train a mouse determine what cheese the mouse likes and how long it will take to go thought the maze.
We predict that the cheddar cheese will make the mouse go faster through the maze because it is what mice are usually fed. But we believe that the mozzarella will be not far behind but cheddar will be the worst because there is not enough smell to the cheese.
A high school student David Merrell studies that classical music helped the mice go faster true the maze and mice that listened to hard rock took 20 minutes longer to navigate the maze, but the mice that listened to hard-rock killed watch other none of the other mice did that.
