Junk
food is food that can be prepared very fast or that does not have to be prepared
at all. Junk food contains too much
sugar, salt, fat and not enough nutrients to nourish the body well. When you eat junk food you get less energy than if you ate
proper food so you eat more and you gain weight.
This is unhealthy and you may end up obese. Junk food also contains additives which give artificial flavors, make dough rise faster and
make food brightly colored and attractive.
Most kinds of junk food contain fat.
Unfortunately, it is not good fat like what's found in olive oil or oil
from nuts and seeds. It is bad for
you. Junk food doesn't contain
fresh fruits, vegetables, vitamins, minerals or fiber either.
So now you know how unhealthy junk food is and you know that you should
eat only good fats. However quality
is not all that matters… A major problem with junk food is the quantity of fat
it contains. Check our conclusion
page to have a better idea of the fat that you swallow when eating a handful of
your favorite chips.
