The materials that we used for our science fair are: a syringe in millilitres, 7 fichus plants, and 7 pots, one for each plant, two bottles of vim all purpose household cleaner, two bottles of Mr. Clean all purpose household cleaners, two bottles of Fantastik all-purpose household cleaner, two bottles of Bright n’ easy all-purpose house hold cleaner, two bottles of Hertel all-purpose household cleaners, and two bottles of Pine-sol all purpose household cleaner. We also used a watering can, a camera for taking photographs of the development in growth of our plants, and laptops for recording the information.
We did our science fair experiment over a three week period. We fed the plants two millilitres of the household cleaners once every two or three days which means that each plant got seven feedings of the cleaners throughout the entire project. We gave the plants water every few days. Before we watered the plants we checked their progress and we took note of the conditions they were in. We took a picture of each plant every few days while we were feeding them the cleaners. We continued this procedure until the plants either died or the three weeks time was up. After the experiment was completed we will looked over the information that we had and we saw which cleaners are the deadliest to nature and if there was an alternative over using herbicides to kill the unwanted weeds. We also saw that our hypothesis which states that every household cleaner will kill the plants was accepted, with a few slight modifications.
