Summary- We are doing our summary on bridges. We chose to do our project on this because we were learning about tensile strength and compression strength. We have made them out of tooth pics and marsh mellows. They were fairly strong. We tested them with gram weights. We made three different types of bridges. One was called a beam bridge. We expected this one to be the weakest. It was just the tooth pics and marsh mellows put together in a flat design. Then we made the under support bridge. The difference between these two bridges are the under support bridge has long pillars coming up from the ground. The last type we made was the suspension bridge. It has two pillars going up from each end of the bridge. Then they are connected by more pillars. After that we used dental floss as the suspensions. This was our best, strongest bridge.
