Introduction

For thousands upon thousands of years, the human brain was a mystery, and nobody at all knew that is was the most important part of the human body. One scientist thought that the center of thinking in the human body was the heart!

Author Tahar Ben Jelloun once said, in a 1999 interview, that "The human soul can't be explained by psychology. She can't be explained, she lives". Maybe he's right, but psychology can explain many different actions.

Since we are curious about how our brains work (thanks to a substitute teacher), we have decided to conduct an experiment in the field of Psychology. For our experiment, we'll see what our brain considers an "Optimal Thinking Environment" by exposing it to heat, cold, and room temperature. At the same time, we will be listening to music, and answering easy, flash-card math questions, testing our recall and thinking abilities.

For warm conditions, we will use a fireplace, and a heavy blanket. Cold ice cubes will provide our cold condition. For music, we'll have rock (Van Halen/Sum 41), jazz (Nat King Cole), classical (various), and also, no music.

We think that hot conditions while listening to classical music such as Beethoven and Mozart will give us the best results. Our reasoning is that matter moves faster under energy, such as heat, so why wouldn't our brains? The classical music predicting was our reasoning, after we heard about a cow who's milk output went up while listening to classical music. So, let's get to the experiment...
