Uderzo, who colors the Asterix comics was color blind.

Cool Facts

Even if you are color blind, you can still go to school, read, write, be a cook, be a gardener, be a artist, be a astronaut, be a athlete, be a scientist, be a soldier, be a spy and more! The things you can’t do are things like choosing what clothes to wear, because you might not know if the colors go together.

The majority of color blind people  are men, because men only have one X chromosome, while women have two. The X chromosome is something that prevents you from being color blind.

If one of your friends is color blind, should you still be friends, because maybe you will also become color blind? No color blindness isn’t a disease, so it isn’t contagious.

Did you know, that there was a pair of glasses that are supposed to help you see better if you’re color blind! Yes it’s true. They looked a bit like sunglasses, but they were supposed to make red brighter, and green darker. That way, it’s easier to tell the difference between red and green. But the company charged 1000$ a pair! Although, two years later,  they went out of business, we don’t know if it was because the glasses didn’t work, or if they charged to much money, but who knows, they might go back to business some day!

Mr.  Rogers (from the television show), Uderzo (who colors the Asterix comics), Degas, Monet , Meryon (all painters), Paul Newman (an actor) and Emerson Moser (inventor of crayola crayons). What do all these people have in common? They are all color blind! When Paul Newman was a kid he wanted to be a airplane pilot, but he wasn’t allowed because he was color blind, so instead he was an actor, and now he is definitely more famous than he would have been if he wasn’t colorblind! Emerson Moser didn’t tell people he was color blind until he retired, wouldn’t it be embarrassing to admit you couldn’t see all you colors!

Did you know that you have cones in your eyes! Yes, but not ice-cream cones, color cones! In school they teach you that the primary colors are red yellow and blue, but if you had a projector and tried to make it use those three colors to make images with, it wouldn’t work! The real primary colors are red blue and green. Also, the colors of the cones in your eyes that make you see colors are red blue, and green. To see the right colors, you need a certain amount of cones from each color. If you don’t, than POOF you’re color blind!

Did you know that everyone is color blind when they’re born! Yes because your cones don't  start working until you are four months old, therefore you are color blind!
