What are some diseases you can get from ticks?

Some diseases that can be received from ticks are tularemia , which enters through the skin if a person comes into contacted with a crushed infected tick. There is Lyme disease which has become the most reported arthropod borne disease in the USA.


How to avoid tick bites?

When you are outside there are several precautions can reduce your chances of being bitten.

~ tuck your pants into your socks and your shirt into your pants .

~ wear light colored clothing.

~ Inspect clothing often.

~ Apply repellants according to label instructions.

~ When home remove clothing and put it in the dryer for 30 minutes to kill any ticks.
