Researching for my project, I found out that Premarin is made from pregnant mares
urine and the horses are kept at PMU barns throughout Canada. At these barns, the
horses are kept in a small stand up stall and are connected to a collection harness. The
urine runs from behing the horse to the front of the stall where the urine is picked up
by a collecter. All of the barns are on a contract with Wyth-Ayrest and most of the
barns in Saskatchewan have been shut down. After the horses are done in the barns, they
go to slaughter.
There are a lot of synthetic versions of Premarin that women can use. Why don't
they use them?
