Construction

It took me around 3 days (with a little help from my dad to cut the wood and advice) to actually make the model.

I will explain how I made it in a simple 10 step process.

DAY ONE

1. first my dad cut off around one and a half foot piece of wood off a big plank and two smaller ones for the jaw.

2. Then I nailed to little blocks off wood on the big body plank so the the esophagus will be at an angle when coming from the head.

3. I nailed the bottom jaw onto the body and then hinged the two small pieces to form the jaw then I hammered some nails in to look like teeth.

4. I cut the top half off a piece of rubber tubing for the esophagus to form a tong sort of thing and glued it with silicon sealant and the nailed it down to the back of the bottom jaw.

5. After this we used expanding sealant foam to form sort of the "flesh" of the crocs head with two bumps where the eyes would be and one big bump at the end of the head for the nose and let it to dry over night.

(expanding sealant foam is like foam that expands rapidly a the hardens all bumpy perfect for croc skin)

DAY TWO

6. The head was dry so I got started on the body, I took Tupperware container for the stomach and cut a piece out of it so the pipe or esophagus if you will would fit into it and sealed it with silicon so it wouldn't leak.

7. The stomach is glued down with the rubber pipe attached to it and then I cut another piece out of the side of the bowl the same size as the first hole for another rubber pipe for the intestines.

8. I glued the intestines down to the body board and the filed the entire body with the expanding foam.

9. I let the foam dry and then painted all the foam covered places green a the intestines pink and the nails in the mouth white and red for the inside the mouth.

10. for a final touch I painted white ovals for the eyes and glued marbles on them for that nice finish.
