As a follow-up to the Peace Initiatives program in September of 2004, Simon Fraser Junior High allowed us, Susan and Katie, to administer a survey on the students, regarding the effectiveness of the Peace Initiatives program. The survey was administered on 480 students (many were absent, and some surveys had been completed improperly, and therefore were not able to be recorded) and many teachers in the school, immediately after lunch on Wednesday, April of 2005. The results of the survey are posted on this page. To view the original survey administered on students, simply click on the link "survey".     The Peace Initiatives survey was incredibly successful, and we owe it all to the cooperation of all the students in Simon Fraser Junior High. Many students felt that the Peace Initiatives program truly helped to reduce the amount of bullying in Simon Fraser. The school is also very fortunate to have so many teachers and staff members who make the students of Simon Fraser feel safe in school. The Peace Initiatives program was meant to emphasize cooperation and acceptance in schools, and based on the survey, the goal of the program was fulfilled. Of course, not every solution is perfect, and there are still incidences of bullying, but to spare even one child from harassment is a huge step in improving the quality of our schools.
