The original Dukw in war times.

There's a lot of history about amphibious cars that you don't know about. For example there were lots of amphibious cars in the 2nd World War. One of the amphibious cars used in the second world war was the DUKW. the first time it was used was in 1943 to transport guns for the Americans. Later on in the war , they used the DUKW's to fight. After 20 years of the American army using the DUKW's in combat they where used as emergency vehicles for while. The DUKW's are now used for tours called " Ride the ducks" . After all that the DUKW's are the most successful war time amphibious car. Now the U.S. Army uses Assault Vehicles which is an amphibious car to instead of the DUKW.

The original Amphicar.

Amphicars were the 1st amphibious car to be sold in mass production and they were made during 1961-1968, also all Amphicars were convertibles. Now Amphicars are collectibles and some times there are  expeditions for Amphicars. Not to long ago Richard Branson broke the record for fastest time in an amphibious car to drive across the English Channel. In 1948 a couple drove around the world in an amphibious war Jeep, they had to cross the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the Jeep they drove was the smallest boat to cross the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
