Differences and similarities between biological and computer viruses

computer viruses

1.  can only work on computers

2.  are electronic

3.  need human aid to spread

4.  cannot change their form (the only exception is polymorphic viruses)

5.  work on a program

6.  after infecting the computer the virus was at least five methods of spreading

The similarities

1.  they are both annoying or malicious

2.  cannot work without host programs/cells

3.  Infect the host in relatively the same way

4.  they execute themselves in relatively the same way

5.  They are both (mostly) repelled in the same way

6.  They attack the host in the same way

7.  there is more than one each

Biological viruses

1.  only work in living organisms

2.  work on a cell

3.  do not need human aid to spread

4.  can change form (by mutating)

5.  are biological

6.  have only to ways to spread once they have infected one cell
